Title: Coke Button
Post by: jbrooks on October 04, 2011, 07:41:01 am
I have a lead on this 4' Coke button.  As you can see in the pic is the plain one.  I was told it has been indoors for the past 35 years.  It is original with just a little paint fading, no rust.  I know the size turns some people off but I like the fact that it is large.  What do you guys think the value of this sign is?  Thanks for any advice.

I like the bigger signs, but I wouldn't do more than $300

his asking price is less than that so i guess it will be a good deal no matter what

Picked up the Coke button and I am loving it. I drove about half an hour to get it and found out it was from a corner store 1 mile from my house.  It hung there from its birth to 35 years ago and then lived indoors as a decoration since. It isnt perfect but it is nice for an original

It's also nice to have the story to go with it!

I agree, I love the fact that I brought it back to where it was in use all those years

It's Sweet!  good find, Do you remember seeing it when you was growing up?  Also, personally I like the plain ones without the coke bottle on them, they have a cleaner look to them

This one is about a 36"-er that is in what I would consider to be immaculate condition.  It is an original one from what I can tell.  Even has the mounting bracket with it.  Up for auction on the 14th if anyone is interested.

If only I could find a 4 footer. Great find! Congrats! If you ever have the desire to sell, let me know. If you ever want to make it look shiny again, have it sprayed with a quality clear coat paint.

Thanks for the positive feedback.  I think this one is staying for a while although my wife looked at me like my head was 4' in diameter when I showed it to her.  I am not old enough nor did I live around here long enough to remember it being in use.  My wife grew up here and she knew the store but did not remember the sign, she probably isnt old enough either

I am in the market for a white button. And I expect to pay dearly for it. But not for a rough one. And that one is rough!

That 36" original porcelain button I posted previously on this thread sold tonight for $350!!  The 24" we had, also original porcelain sold for same amount, $350!  I'm assuming we did pretty good.
