Title: Pepsi Clock
Post by: Ken R on October 01, 2011, 01:11:05 pm
This clock needs just a tad bit of attention with the hands, but the movement does still work.  Any ideas on its age or value??  Thanks.

Lots written about clocks here too.. Its a double dot so if real and not repro it would be pre 1952.

These are always availbel on ebay and that would be the best place for price.

Am pretty certain that it is an original and not a repro.  Heavy glass face and beautiful art.  Back is like a fiberous board rather than plastic as I would expect a repro to be made of.  I have pics of backside too if anyone wishes to see that.

The casing might be original but the back glass may well be a reproduction. Search the archive here
it was discussed only a little while ago.

The back of the glass will be rough if it's original, not baby  behind smooth. The Mfg name will be on the edge, approx between the 5 and 6 , maybe the 6 and 7, mine is still in storage.
Also look for waviness and bubbles in the  clear glass.

Good info. Kilroy! I'm always looking at clocks and I don't know much about them.

In the pictures I have, I can make out "Pepsi-Cola" right under the 6-o'clock position, but can't see anything else because of the angle the photo was taken.  On the back of it, it says "Telechron, CAT No. 6" on a label that is cracked with age and deteriorating, but still readable...for the most part.  Not sure about the glass part.  Does that information help at all?
