Title: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Ken R on September 27, 2011, 08:16:03 pm I am just curious if anyone out there has ever seen a Westinghouse Master with a water spicket coming out of the top with a small sink/drain mounted in the center between the two doors??? Are they rare?? Thanks.

Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Ken R on September 27, 2011, 09:56:18 pm Don't the Master doors meet in the middle usually though? This thing still has all the coils inside the machine too and the doors look original. Not saying that it hasn't been "McGyver'd" as you put it, but it sure looks original, just with lots of rust. Here's another look at the top.

roll around ball stadiums/parks... Looks like 2 standard lids and the option in the middle for a fountain pretty cool. Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Slapshot42 on September 28, 2011, 09:07:54 pm Ken,
I have the manual for this particular cooler and nowhere did I see any type of faucet type configuration. Im pretty sure the lids are supposed to meet together. Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: collecture on September 28, 2011, 09:20:38 pm The water fountains were options - I have a VMC33-3D manual listing a fountain as an accessory (or kit). Not 100% certain with these earlier floor coolers, but I bet they were offered as well.
I have never owned a Standard or Master, but I have owned a Vendo Junior with a fountain (see pic). The bracket was a custom fit to the body and definately not rigged! Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Ken R on September 28, 2011, 09:26:23 pm collecture,
What do you think of the pics of the Master I posted? You think that was an original option? Do you suppose it may be a rare find??? It obviously needs some serious restoration. From what I can tell, it does not appear to have been some Mickey Mouse rig or anything, but I could be wrong. Thoughts?? Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Eric on September 28, 2011, 09:38:01 pm I could be wrong but my vote is it was made that way from Coca-Cola. Those are standard size lids and
it all looks aged evenly. If it was home made the lids would be cut down and the center piece wouldn't match... I doubt someone would buy new lids and fabricate the center piece... a lot of trouble... I don't have my Cooler book handy but they (Coke) customized cooler with a shopping cart type handle on the end and put them on roller/caster to push around parks. I've never seen one of those other than a book... So who to say this isn't something that sat in a store or gas station to both serve as a cooler and drinking fountain.... cool piece. Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Ltransam on September 28, 2011, 09:44:02 pm I also Beleive It From Coke .I'v Seen Other Version With Drinking Fountians Made In To Them On a Similar Pannel On the end With The Cooler doors Next To it .My Guys in the Machine Shop made a Stainless Bowl For It .The cooler Was Restored By one Of the Sponcer Here .That I know Longer Deal With . I have Also seen the Version You have for Sale a Couple Time On E-bay In My 12 years Of watching . I wouldn't value it any different. Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Eric on September 29, 2011, 07:04:36 am If it were in better condition maybe a little more... but these aren't as sought after like the juniors and standards...
If it was restored and working I think it would do better than a regular just because of the option. But as it sits, with the work and parts needed... I personally would pass it by... but that's personal preference... That cooler is just not for me. Title: Re: Westinghouse Master Question Post by: Ken R on September 29, 2011, 09:18:40 am Understood. As always, thanks for you guys' input on such things. More heads are better than one!!
