It's only over a month away, but figured start the official Chicago Show thread.. Mainly just to let you know that did go ahead and book the room at Portillo's as it was nice Last November to have that private room. The room charge was $108.00 with tax and we have it starting at 6pm. I'd ask for anyone joining us that night for 5 bucks toward the rental of the room. (dinner is a counter style service for those who haven't been there) so you just order what you want and bring it into the room. So I hope I'm not the only one going ... who else is coming!?? should be fun once again! Would be fun to see some new faces too.. Jim? Pat P generously offered a ride with him if any of the Michigan Mafia wanted to make the trip with him (and I would gladly contribute to the travel costs) and John (Sign Guy) offered to split his expenses for the outside parking lot sales on Friday that required the dealer permit to sell in parking lot area. I have numerous sliders that I may offer for sale, along with that Transitional Faygo VMC 81 mentioned in previous posts. I'd really like to go as I've never been there, but I'm not sure if I want to just go as a buyer (with Pat P) or as both as buyer/seller on my own. I can haul my stuff down there if I decide to sell...I'm just not sure yet if that's the route I want to go with (sell vs. buy). I think I'll decide as the date draws closer, where I can see what I still have for sale and if I can make the trip. I had 3 emails today from people wanting coin boxes, racks, cap catchers and side doors for sliders. At this rate, I may not have much to sell by the time November rolls around. I just want to go really bad to meet other members, to take it all in, and to just see what it's all about!!! Anybody else on the fence?

All I can say is if you havne't been there, then this is the time to come.. not to mention the good group of guys/gals on hand, but it's just plain fun... if your a regular on this site and love what others have to post about, etc... then this is like a real life version of a website.. actual people finding deals, makeing deals , finding things to add to their collection and the best part, you can see what they are getting first hand! pretty cool.. and like I said if you have something you want to sell, your more than welcome to drop it by my booth, it'll be me and a buddy heading down this year. oh and those within 5-6 hours.. it's not a bad drive! He's so used to everyone bringing machines to him, that he now knows what that involves. He even called me 2 hours later after he left Kilroy's parents house saying he was still on the road going home. (By the way, it's a 1 hour drive tops from Kilroy's parents to Pat's house (not 4 hours), but then again, only Pat knows what mischief he got into on the way home! He probably bought another machine on his way home in the back roads of Michigan!
Actually, Pat should get the Godd Samaritan award for the day...He helped out 2 local collectors (me and Kilroy), helped out 2 michigan Neihbor collectors (Rod and John), and even helped JohnieG move that day. I remember turning off the car radio to tell Bob we were on our way back, seconds later I was told the greatest comeback in Lions history started. I Remember Pat marvelling at the paved roads and indoor plumbing, I guess it's not readily available in his neck of the woods. So just a reminder, we are meeting at Portillos restaurant and we do have the Side Room availabe once again,, and a HUGE THANK YOU TO FUNTRONICS for picking up the Room Charge! Thanks Rod and Janet!!! we have the room anytime after 6pm on Thursday Nov. 10th... for those of you who have not been there, it's right next door to Pheasant Run and in front of the Target Store. Well It's a GO !!!!! I have made the Hotel Reservations 1/2 mile South of the Resort . I have to work nights Nov 7-11 swapping out PC's after hours at Ford WHQ. It was originally scheduled for the week of 10/17, but the new PC's didn't show up on time. I'd say sometimes I can't catch a break, but I caught a huge break today in selling my 63, so that's not true. Thanks Moondawg! I went from 6 machines down to 1 machine in the last 6 weeks. I sold a Stoner Jr, uselect it a popcorn warmer and a few small stuff.. picked up some other machines that where pre purchased and hauled in from all areas from Some of the Great Members here on SMC!
So big thanks to Brian (Seven181), and Pat Pixley for Helping me out ... The dinner was once again the highlight, alwasy great to see everyone, and then see them again Friday morning and talking about what they saw, bought or missed... outside sales I thought ended earlier than years past... and seemed to dry up around 11am ... but when you start at 5.. thats plenty of time too.. I didn't take pictures as I didn't walk around much... so thanks for Matt for posting some for those who can't make it... there where only a few people I didn't get to meet from the site that got in late Thursday or Friday so would like to hear their take.. I think Bonovox was one? not sure who else?
