Title: Replacing Vendo 110 door glass - need some help
Post by: brasskey on September 24, 2011, 09:49:21 pm
I was missing the inner door glass on my Vendo 110 door, so I took it apart today.  Surprisingly, the wood is in pretty good shape and the rust at the bottom of the door is not too bad.  I think for now I'll just go ahead and put the new glass pieces in.  But, I have a few questions.  First, where can I get the black rubber seal pictured below that goes between the outer piece of glass and the metal?  Also, what kind of sealant is typically used between the wood pieces pictured in the last picture?  Thanks.

The sealant is standard HVAC/refrigeration putty, ( not plumbers putty) as for the glass rubber seal, as I recall ( I haven't torn apart a V110 or a 6-case in a while) it's a single channel semi-hard rubber, try Funtronics or Soda-jerks they should have what you'd need...

Oh wow, I totally forgot these 110's have wood inside them.

You might be able to use weather stripping, too, for that seal.  Not as good as the rubber stuff, but still pretty good.

I bring this post up again because of the questions associated with it. Since the pics are gone for reference, I am confused by the words associated with them. I have a VMC 110 which should be the same.

What is the black rubber seal that goes between the outer glass and the metal?

Also, what are you guys talking about when you are discribing a  sealant between the wood pieces?

If anyone has pic, it would help. I don't remember either of these items when I disassembled my machine.

Thanks
Gary
