Title: Pepsi Cav 96
Post by: Funtronics on September 19, 2011, 03:39:53 pm
Well I was down at Alan Huffmans place picking up some soda last week before I headed to the Schmidt auction. Here's a picture of me standing by an embossed Pepsi Cav 96 with Alan and his supposed to be new helper. I know the rest of us don't have helpers like that. Anyway he told me that this came in to him with a white front, blue sides and the embossed Pepsi logo was red. Has to be the only one in existance (right). It does look really cool done up Pepsi. What a crazy and busy place.   :help:

I think it would look better without the "Hits the Spot" decal on the side, the "ICE COLD" decal on the bottom, and the bottle on the door.

Is it real? That is hard to believe. At that time (from what I hines. ave read) Cavalier was contracted by Coca Cola and had an agreement to only make Coke embossed machines. How can he prove that it is real. I used to be a body guy at a paint shop and welds can be easily covered up even on the back side. I am not saying Alan is passing anything off but someone else may have.

Zero % chance it's real...I like it because it's different, but I think it's a coke machine with letters from a Pepsi cooler welded in.

I think a RT 56 with embossing from a Pepsi 33, all blue, would look awesome...

No this one was never really a Pepsi machine. I was just messing with you guys.   Alan really did a good job with this one. He told me how he got the embossing on it, and it looks really good. This machine wouldn't be for everyone, but if you like Pepsi and want something different and really POPS then this is it.

Matt,

Thanks, you made that WAY to easy!!

Don't know about the show this year. We have a lot going on with our house(s). Selling one and renovating/restoring one with a possible move in time frame of late October or early November. We'll see!

I dunno.... it's kinda like looking at a 1965 mustang, with great paint, decals and all... but having a chevrolet symbol on the grill instead of a horse!
This picture reminds me of a magician lol... where you have a girl with OO to look at while the magic takes place and NO one spots it! lol

To each their own though  :happydrinkers:

The drivers got in on the wrong side of the car...
They had to use "modified" factory engines...
