Title: My new find Post by: Chris on September 08, 2011, 04:42:11 pm I'm sure that some of you guys here in FLA talked to this guy since he said that he talked to a couple of people already but after talking to him I got it for $250.00. He says it cools but not freezing cold but it works. He kept liquor in it. I know that parts are very scarce but I'm doing this machine for my kid so it can take me as long as it takes to find the right parts. If anyone knows where I can find the drum, coin mech, coin mech door and handle please let me know.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Ken R on September 08, 2011, 04:59:42 pm Exactly which model is it? Data tag is very difficult to read. Thanks.
Ken Title: Re: My new find Post by: Ken R on September 08, 2011, 05:00:08 pm Oh, forgot to say...really cool machine!!!!! Congrats!!
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 08, 2011, 05:01:15 pm I forgot to put it in the write-up, It's a Jacobs 35.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Ken R on September 08, 2011, 06:00:09 pm Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll be heading up next week to see a guy that may know where I can find the parts you need, or may even have some parts. If I can locate them, I'll drop you a note and let you know.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: collecture on September 08, 2011, 06:19:22 pm Looks like a solid machine!
Far and few in-between on Jacobs parts. Keep a watchful eye out and you will locate them in time. Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 08, 2011, 06:23:25 pm Thanks Ken. I am gonna take my time with this machine, god knows it's gonna take me some time to find all of them.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: rayg on September 08, 2011, 07:02:22 pm Nice find, half the fun of collecting is the hunt for the missing parts!
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 08, 2011, 07:20:13 pm Absolutly! It is usable as a fridge in the mean time. For me the trill is the hunt. Thats probably why I have sold every machine I have bought  It would be fun to gather the parts. Go to swap meats and dig through parts bins and so on. Have fun and enjoy it. It will be more rewarding once its done and you and your son are enjoying it down the road!
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 08, 2011, 07:30:56 pm Thanks. If you hear of anything here in FLA let me know. Your still in Orlando right?
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Ken R on September 08, 2011, 08:19:33 pm If you're still mising something come April, let me know as I think I might try to go to the Pate Swap Meet. Never been, so thought might go check it out!
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 08, 2011, 09:05:30 pm Yes I am still in Orlando. I will keep my eyes open for you and anything I find I will send directly to you. Where are you located again?
Title: Re: My new find Post by: cokecolaman on September 08, 2011, 09:42:24 pm Anyone know why there are no reproduction parts for the jacobs machines? Seems like a lot of interest and most are missing the drum...
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 08, 2011, 09:59:41 pm I believe someone made some a while back. This is just a guess but not very many were made. Especially not when compared with Vendo and Vendorlator machines. Yes many are missing but few other drums are made for any machine. They are very expensive to make and expensive to ship so I doubt the demand would be high. You would have to make a huge quantity to justify the cost of tooling and huge quantities would take forever to recoup profits. Making the smaller quantities that would be more realistic would be so expensive per unit to sell they would sit on the shelf for a long time. I know I would rather wait for an original to pop up before buying a $600 drum. I have seen several rusted out Jacobs sell on ebay over the years. That would be your best bet. Usually you can talk the seller of a rusted out machine to part it out for you if you pay for their time to part it out. That would probably be your easiest way to complete the machine. If you can find a complte rusted out machine then you can buy it for far less than buying part by part especially in shipping savings from buying each part here and their.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Eric on September 08, 2011, 10:04:08 pm The inside looks really clean... must not have been used much.... just wait.. a rough, weathered one will show up with all the guts... just wait it out and enjoy as is till the parts come along.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 09, 2011, 05:12:23 am Yes I am still in Orlando. I will keep my eyes open for you and anything I find I will send directly to you. Where are you located again? I'm in JAX. Not too far. I bought this machine from a guy in Tampa. Title: Re: My new find Post by: Cokemachinesandmore on September 09, 2011, 10:53:42 am i have a front coin mech cover, but i believe its for a jacobs 26
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 09, 2011, 11:00:14 am i have a front coin mech cover, but i believe its for a jacobs 26 I think the only difference in the 26 and the 35 is the drum assy. I might be interested if i can verify that. Title: Re: My new find Post by: collecture on September 09, 2011, 12:49:42 pm Looking at Walter's book....he says while the coin doors are the same size, the coin entry and empty lense are in different locations. Obviously the crank handle is different as well.

Obviously the crank handle is different as well. Dang! Title: Re: My new find Post by: Chris on September 10, 2011, 09:43:11 pm I found a drum and shaft but i think it's a bit steep. $875 for both. Any ideas?
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 10, 2011, 10:16:14 pm Yikes. I would think that is very high. You can probably find a donor rusted out but complete machine for that much and use all of its parts and maybe even have some to sell after. Although the J35 is much harder to find than the 26 so Maybe that is the going price??? I don't know
Title: Re: My new find Post by: cokecolaman on September 10, 2011, 11:14:25 pm I agree...too much.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Cokemachinesandmore on September 10, 2011, 11:44:39 pm for 900. i have a complete jacobs 35 has surface rust on the outside but machine is complete. and you have a cabinet in great shape ???
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 11, 2011, 06:36:26 am Now that is a good deal. If the price includes coin mech, coin mech cover, vend handle. Drum, shaft, linkage, and so on $900 is a good deal.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: Cokemachinesandmore on September 12, 2011, 08:17:43 am Yes josh the machine is complete has all that.
Title: Re: My new find Post by: loman4ec on September 12, 2011, 12:13:50 pm OOPs I didn't mean If I meant And. " And it includes coin mech, coin mech cover, ect. If you want to complete it that would be a good and easiest way to do it. I had forgotten that the coin mech and cover were different from the J26so it may be really hard to find the parts elsewhere.
