Title: Glascock JR value?
Post by: Coke_Atlanta on August 09, 2011, 08:10:29 pm
Original glascock Jr cooler.

Nice condition. Currently using it as end table.
Wondered what value is now?
And value if I restored it?
-and any recomendations on who to use for restoration?
(or is better to just keep in orig condition)

thanks in advance.

Hello,
Apologies you have not received a response.
Great cooler!! I would leave as is.
Hope someone that knows values will chime in.

I don't know the value, but I would pay about $500- $550 for it...and I would keep it original also.

Only thing I've found so far is the Petretti's coca cola collectable price guide. It listed it for 1500.00 in 1997. But was hoping for a more current value.
They may have gone up or down in last 14 years.

Price guides are a useful tool, but I've never found one that was dead on accurate to market conditions or real world  pricing.

Not to disillusion you, but yeah, the market has gone down, every collectable market has. There are still bright spots, and if you are in Atlanta, you have access to more Coke collectors in the market.

With the economy and repros out there I don't think you'd see $1500... Nice original.. I'd leave as is. great little survivor especially at its age.

I've found price guides to be about 2 times what you can actually get. Sometimes even more than that. The $1500 price is for the highest priced Glascock sold that was reported to the author when the book was being put together.

Don't know the value, but I would leave it as it is.  Look's great!

Then again, value is in the eyes of the beholder.

At that price he may “beholding” for a while...

Would be one to watch to see if it gets takers... though I think they should have started around $500..

i think you're not giving yourself  enough credit for your smarts.
The seller had the glass cock posted before. No takers. Gee for  $5999.00.

This was easy enough to track, Click on the "other items for sale link , then look for the completed listings option.
