Title: Stoner Jr finished in Wood Grain: East Coast Style By Memory Lane Restorations
Post by: memorylane on July 27, 2011, 10:50:01 pm
Ok everyone here are a few photos of my newest Project for Jeff Wolf and keep in mind this is going in his new Jewelry Store in NH.  Grand Opening this Saturday at 10am. It needed to be first class and up scale. This machine is Beautiful and every last detail inside and out is near perfect. I'm still putting it togather and will have Completed photos on Thursday. I think Rick needs to step it up. I'll go head to head, East coast verses West coast. I know not everyone likes Wood Grain but if it's done correct the out come can be Beautiful. I will add Very close up photos sometime on Thursday before I leave for NH. Hope everyone enjoys looking at them.

Wow.  That is absolutely beautiful.  Would love to see the West coast-East coast challenge.  Rather than focus on coming up with some cheesy phoney story line about how they "discover" these machines I wish they would focus on some of the artistry and processes involved in bringin them back to life.  Congratulations on a fantastic looking piece.  I would watch an entire show on just how you created that woodgrain effect.

WOW !!  Looks really great Curtis. I'd hate to ask what a paint job like that cost. You and Steve do great work, and come up with some killer ideas.

Curtis,

Unbelievable!  :happydrinkers: That machine looks incredible.  I would love to know a little more about the paint process because it really does look like a nice piece of furniture.  Can't wait to see the totally finished product in its final place.  What does Jeff plan to vend from it?

As far as the East Coast versus West Coast Challenge--I think Curtis would have to keep one hand behind his back and Steve would have to stay out of the shop just to keep it fair!  There is absolutely no comparison between the work done at Memory Lane and Rick's Restoration.  NONE!  And that goes for any machine--not just Stoners.

 :drinking: Tim :drinking:

PS:  Give Jeff a big SMC "HELLO!" and tell him we are all happy to hear he is doing well!

Absolutely gorgeous machine........I guess Rick could learn a thing or two from you.   His "woodgraining" on the show looks more like dripped contrasting colored paint..............

I don't think Rick would dare participate. He would look so bad he might lose his show.

Hi Curtis,

Can you tell what the size (diameter and thickness) of the metal disk did you used for the side lock (I got the lock itself) as picture link below and do you have any spare to sell? If not then where did you get the rare stock from?

Thanks,

Great job Curtis! Can't wait to see how my two Stoner Theatres you are working on turn out.  And I agree, Amercian Restoration's "faked" Theatre is dull.  Dave

Congrats to Roadman for jumping in.  He is a new guy with the kind of passion for the hobby that many of us have.  I wish him well on his journey down memory lane.

Let me know if you need any help Dave.
