Title: braces Post by: junkynotch on July 18, 2011, 07:56:07 pm has anybody ever put a brace between the inside lid and the outside lid...im almost done welding patches and would like to brace the lid to keep the top from dipping in. I looked and didn't see anything on the subject I have an idea but if somebody has done this before and has a better idea.....im all ears...
thanks in advance  Title: Re: braces Post by: loman4ec on July 18, 2011, 07:57:18 pm what machine are you working on?

Title: Re: braces Post by: johnieG on July 19, 2011, 05:30:26 pm Ah... the only reason they collapse is because some little kid ( or a big dummy) sits on the lid, or uses it for a stepping stool. maybe some self expanding foam would give it some firmness?

So I figured I would cut the middle man out. I have a piece of really thin half inch tubing I can make some supports out of...I know its probably not necessary but with my people I hang around with I would rather be safe then sorry. And thank you for the quick responses I'm sure ill have a bunch more questions before its over with. Thanks again in advance  |
