Post by: rayg on June 18, 2011, 11:39:33 pm
Saw this on Ebay  (current for $81.00) it was a new one to me (most still are) thought it was different, the base doesn't look original

 Hello, Rayg
Canteen Has been around a LONG time This Is their First Version .My Father worked for them through the Sixties in to the Late Seventy's .Way before I ever thought of collecting . I bought My First Canteen The Year My Father Died .He got To See it Before I could Restore It First.   It was Just the Main Machine But Later I found a Base And With help from a Member (Collecture)Here It was Mated to the Top . I have Only Seen One Original Base For My Version Machine (Second Type ) In 15 Years . I also Have the Early (30s ) Very Rare Gum Canteen that was Normally Mounted on the Side Of Both Version of there Machines . These is also A Even Rarer Nut  Or M&M type Vendor that Mounts to the Other side But I have Never seen anything But a Picture Of it .

The CANTEEN you are posting about Is Complete !!  And It is on the Original Stand for the Period . But WILL NEED some Work On the Insides .They're Really Hard To Disassemble & Reassemble the Shelf's   Ask Curtis From Memory Lane .

Also It appears the Coin Mech WILL require a Lot of Work .But I know For a Fact That Tom aka Collecture  Has Restored one For Creighton On this Site .

Parts Are Extremely !!! Hard To Find .You Almost have to have a Parts Machine

I am Still Looking For This  Machine Local . Ca Is Way to Far Me    :darn: :censored:

Nice! Hope you got Tim's! Glad you got a Stoner that will work for you. I always wanted a Canteen, so we will see. It needs a lot of work.
