Great Poll, but I'm confused? I'm exactly 40, so do I use the 30-40 button or the 40-50 button... maybe if I'm confused it's because I'm older? hmmm  :glare:

That's fantastic! I am 29 and have been a member for 9 or so years. I bought my first collectable (a Duncan parking meter) when I was 11 at the Marion county fairgrounds swap meet in Indianapolis. I grew up doing this with my Dad. How did you get into this hobby? I hope more people of our generation get into these machines and other collectables. I have seen so many collections liquidated when collectors pass away because their children and or grandchildren have no interest in it. What a shame. Our younger generations seem to have no interest in the past. Even my grandparents are giving me most of their heirlooms as they know I am the only one that will appreciate them and never sell them.

Me and Jack are the only young guns here! We have to deal with all the old folks, just kidding.

Looks like I'm in the majority (41-50)! Boy, that makes me feel old!
I got my first machine when I was a freshman in high school (1984). My parents threatened to call their scrap hauler when I had 4 machines sitting outside their house during college.  :veryangry:
I am hoping that my daughter (2 years old) will share my love of coin-op items. She loves helping me load up the machine in our gameroom. I have to help her a lot since they are glass bottles.  :tounge:

Should be twenty and under.

I figured the majority would be born in the late fifties to early sixties, because this is the stuff we use to see all over before the square invasion took place in America.  Cars, vending, etc.

I don't have socks older than these young whipper snappers, but I do have carpet that is older .

Which ever way you look at it works out.

I am 40 and I can thank my dad for instilling in me the appreciation of collectibles.  He bought a 1966 Candy Apple Red Mustang for me as my first car!  He has always been into the cars.  I started collecting Coca Cola items when I was in my late teens - nothing big or expensive, but always wanted a Coke machine.  Well, apartments are really conducive for collecting Coke machines, so I got my first one when I bought my first house.  I've sold all of my Coke machines except for my Cavalier 33 and added a U Select It candy machine, a 1932 Ballyhoo pinball machine, and a 1950's nickel Circus slot machine.  Guess I can't figure out what I want to collect when I grow up!  ha ha

Hey Bud!

It's a Remington 870 12 gauge. 3 inch magnum.
8 rd magazine extension tube. Blackhawk pistol grip,
recoil suppressing stock. Red dot site and flashlight
mount.

Handy for "close encounters"!

Nothing quite like the sound of a 870 chambering a shell, other than the resulting flash/boom :-)
Great piece of home defense kit.
Sorry for the minor hijack.
