Title: Re: Pepsi Cooler Post by: johnieG on May 26, 2011, 10:41:05 pm It's a very nice G.E. wet chest, ( it uses refrigerated water to keep the soda bottles cold) & although it's one the most embossed coolers you can find, they can be a challenge to restore with all of those Pepsi logo's being embossed ( even the lids), make darn sure it's complete, I see it has it's front compressor cover, but I don't see the cap catcher. the tank is galvanized steel ( as opposed to a Westinghouse or Cavalier wet chest which came with stainless steel tanks) & it's prone to pin hole rust , the compressor is a semi-hermetic belt driven type that is very well built, & the water recirculating pump is up inside the tank tends to seize up after years of non use. ( It's not too difficult to replace) $850 may be a tad on the high side..( in my opinion unless it's 100% complete & in running condition ) but it's a knock down beautiful machine when it's fully restored.
PS ...it may be missing it's "General Electric" front name-badge too, hard to see with the pictures provided.. Title: Re: Pepsi Cooler Post by: Eric on May 27, 2011, 07:02:16 am It's missing the opener/cap catcher.. I had a non-electric I sold for $450 a few months back. Was complete and solid great coolers
one of the best Pepsi put out .. lots of embossing.. |
