Title: Finished interior fix-up of my VF-63, almost... need liner part.
Post by: JDAugie on April 13, 2011, 10:07:57 pm
Hi all,  Thanks again for all the help to date.  I've finished the clean up and repaint of the interior of my Coke/DrPepper VF-63. I'm still looking for a piece of a liner that I can glue in to fix the broken chunk.  Cokecolaman thought he had one but it turned out not to match. Thanks for the try.  So I've renewed my search.  If anyone can come up with a piece I can cut to fit and epoxy in, I'd appreciate it.  Here's a pic of the finished interior paint and the missing liner part.

Thanks,
John

Thanks, It was in a lot worse condition with rust and dirt that the USS-8-64 that I did first so it took awhile.  But, after learning a little on the USS, I got more ambitious and took more apart to clean.  The outside needs a repaint.  It looks like someone recoated it with a slightly off white, that feels thick, like house paint. But, I'm going to wait and sand and repaint when I can do it outside, since I don't have a paint booth, maybe a month or so. I'd like to fix the liner though before I crank it up, so the insulation doesn't get damp.  Maybe just some mettallic duct tape till I find the part.

Its not the prettiest, but you could put a piece of black gorilla tape over the opening for now. That stuff is amazing. I used it to seal a small leak in my pool liner and it stuck under water.

John,
I have some broken liner pieces - not from your model machine though.
I could cut a flat piece out larger than you need and you could shape it to fit. I think you could somehow put a bend in with a heat gun or something maybe.
LMK - PM me your address and size you'll need and I'll mail you a piece.
