Title: Vendo Coin Changer Project
Post by: Jim on April 01, 2011, 04:44:09 am
I'm working on a couple of projects and just decided to share...
This VCC case had a nice crack, a little weld and grinding; viola ! ! ! Good as New ! ! !
Although it's not true to authenticity, I had this powder coated... Just finished preping for a second coat which should yield a "glass-like" finish according to my powder-coater.
We'll see...

I didn't know steel could crack like that without bending first. Anyway, it looks nice now. Curious to see if powdercoating can shine as smooth as paint.

       Keep us posted!

Nice job Jim... I've noticed on several old westinghouse coolers and others that crack at the rounded corner... must be the
gauge and/or quality of metal?.... looking good though!.... put this in the photo area under restorations...
I have a insert exactly like the originals if you need one....
