Title: I can't find this manufactuer on the machines page
Post by: pinballdude on March 27, 2011, 10:46:26 pm
Sorry, but I don't know my machines like you guys do.
Who  is S-V Co's out of KC Kansas?
Trying to ID one, a Model 3A. I do not know the name of the
macnine. It's a tall, light up 7up. Door on the right. Square corners.
About 6 ft tall. It is a friend's and we are wanting to try to get to
the door light. Sorry no pics right now. Looks real good except for
rust around the bottle door and holes from a hinge/padlock that is
no longer there.
Thanks.
Terry

Sounds like a SelectVend (sp) I have a SV 1A so the numbers make sense.
If I'm reading your post correctly you want to replace/fix the door light?
Couple of small philip screws and then the panel lifts off two pins.
Parts are zilch for SV's. Just replace with a Lowes/Home Depot fixture.

Thanks for the info.
What would cause the door lamp to blow every time
power is put to it? Where to look?
And how do you adjust the coin mech for different
amounts?
Thanks
Terry

Maybe a bad ballast is causing the door lamp to blow out? It is a fluroescent bulb right? I think I have heard people say that a ballast could cause that to happen so it might be a good place to look.

Yep if your florescent lamp pops like a flash-bulb, it's a bad ballast...Home depot still carries them, but I've be told that they wont be re-ordering them once their current stock is depleted.

I know incandescent lights are being phased out by 2014, never heard that Florescent tubes are being pulled

No, not the lamps...just magnetic style ballasts, they are being replaced by the new electronic "ballasts"  for energy efficiency, green planet crapola..blah-blah-blah  ( Really, take a look down the Ballast section at Lowes or Home-Depot)

so when you break a CFL you have to call & report yourself to the EPA Nazi's  :tounge:

Seriously though, if they break a CFL or a fluorescent lamp in a school, they have to call it a hazmatt situation & get a mercury remediation contractor to clean it up...   Foot note.. Congress has on the docket to "flush" the CFL "mandate" ( which like Europe was to ban the sale of standard Incandescence lamps in the USA) due to concerns of mercury contamination of the environment..Ironic isn't it?  :upside:

So Instead of yelling "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater, now you can yell " I have a 100 watt CFL and I'm not afraid to use it...YAHHHHH"

Heard the guy that pushed for the big switch to CFL is being investigated  for fraud along with some of  the makers of the CLF's.......... I'm sure that's part of the push to repeal it.
