OK  Question A few year back did someone make a Vendo 83 re-pro honey comb rack that was a little deeper ??
or was that the Vendo 33/ or 27 ??

You take the baffle plate from the rear of the liner on a VMC-27A/33 (not the tabletop) and adjust the chute and long neck bottles will fit and vend. Walter's says that cans will fit with a drum modification, but I've never met anyone who knew what he was referring to.
Never heard of a V-83 modified drum...

I know the V-39 has a modified drum/aftermarket drum that will allow for 12-0oz. bottles to be vended by inserting them crown first into the drum, but as far as I know nobody ever has made a modified V-83 drum...

the problem with a V-83 is that the drum is support by an axle much like the V-39, but because of the weight of the larger drum, that axle is supported by a large rectangular support member that runs the full height of the inside tank, thus not allowing for a longer bottle to be vended.

While the V-39 drum support is more flush to the rear of the cabinet thus allowing for more clearance between the rear of the drum & the back wall of the tank.

the diagram shows the approx. differences in the mounting of the respective drums. red for the V39, blue for the V83...
