Title: Rockola 1468 Tempo value question Post by: loman4ec on March 22, 2011, 10:08:53 pm I have a chance to buy a rockola 1468 tempo in good cond local. The cabinet is good and so is the glass. Everything is there and very solid but it does not work. He wants $1,300 for it. Is that a good price? I would be buying to just fix up a little and resell.

The market is still soft, try to talk him down, without knowing why it doesn't work the repair cost could cancel the profit.
Title: Re: Rockola 1468 Tempo value question Post by: loman4ec on March 23, 2011, 09:39:57 am He will only go to $1,200. I think its a little high. I really would like to have it to play with. Not having any toys is killing me but sine we moved into an apartment I don't have a shop anymore. We are talking about buying a house soon though. I am going to ask my apartment about renting a garage. They have 1 and 2 car garages for rent and I think a 1 car is only $100 a month. I would do that if I can get one.

Give Lloyd at Copinopwarehouse a call, 703-801-1459. I've picked his brain many a time for price estimates or demand of a particular model. II don't see a lot of Rockola's in the midwest, but they are really hot in Europe, so i don't think finding a buyer would be an issue. I have an Empress from the same stable as the Tempo. Lovely looking Jukebox. Not as strong as my Wurly or the Seeburg but I think it looks better... As for price, can't help you there mate.. Its really not too bad I wish the price was better. and I wish my wife would let me have one in the house. She loves music too but hates my hobby.

This should be a pretty easy project. He said the chrome is as good as the re-chrome job on his restored juke in his house. That would be a huge savings if I decide to refurbish it. I wouldn't want to do a restoration but clean it up and refinish it to get it working and looking good would be a fun project. But the wife wouldn't let it in the house so I would have to sell it unless we have bought a house by then.
