Title: Vendo 83 Post by: JBVending on March 17, 2011, 08:23:38 am Does this look like a good buy? No cord probably means bad compressor, but assuming the rest of insides are complete.

JB Title: Re: Vendo 83 Post by: SIGNGUY on March 17, 2011, 11:12:00 am in my opinion. a Vendo 83 is never a good buy.. Iv'e turned them down for free in the past as I didn't want to deal with them, and there is no market value for them..
if your new to this, it's exciting to find your first machine especially when its really cheap, but you soon come to realize why it was so cheap, compared to a multi drink vendor like an 81 , 56 or 110.. it's a rookie mistake that we have all made, so use the knowledge and advice off this board, save your money, and put it towards something you'll actually get to use like a 50's era vendo or if you cant' afford that , there are several really nice square top machines out there for 250-400 that should continue to hold and grow in value. 2 cents Title: Re: Vendo 83 Post by: JBVending on March 17, 2011, 11:13:09 am Also...does anyone know what this is? http://louisville.craigslist.org/atq/2265733274.html

Ditto...I personally would pass, unless you need parts for another machine... Parting it out did get me a few hundred by the time I was done, and I saved the embossing panels. Yes I agree if you know how to part something out and realize it 's only good for parts .you did good and got you a few hundy in your pocket.. but I get 3-4 emails or phone calls a week off of my website from people with the same questions, or people who buy one thinking they just bought a machine worth thousands for 2 hundred bucks and now can't realize why they can't resell it and retire.. :biggrin:Title: Re: Vendo 83 Post by: JBVending on March 17, 2011, 02:27:21 pm Thanks for the advice guys. I have a warehouse full of square top can vendors but I am looking for a round top to set in front of my garage. I will pass on the 83. Have a couple PacMan and wizard of war games, some juke boxes, if any one close to Louisville and wants to trade a round top for one of them let me know.

That changes everything . that is the one thing I did not mention about the Vendo 83.. if your just looking for a an old coke machine to sit out front as a display and you can pick it up for a couple hundred. then heck yeah.. it's an ok deal.. you can gut it if complete and sell off the parts and prety much have a nice display that you don't care if it gets rained on or stolen for that matter as it will be almost paid for? we all thought you where buying your first vending machine thinking you found gold?JB Title: Re: Vendo 83 Post by: JBVending on March 17, 2011, 03:56:00 pm Well actually I need a working machine to vend soda, cans would be best. I just like the looks of older round tops.
