Title: sandblasting equipment
Post by: vintage-air on February 08, 2011, 01:56:35 pm
Does anyone here do their own blasting? I have about 6 machines to blast and for the cost of taking them somewhere, I could purchase a high end system. Anyone have any recommendations on what brand to buy, blasting compound and gun tip size. Air supply is not a problem. I have a 185cfm compressor that will be plenty to do what I need to do. Just looking for a little guidance. Thanks!

I do all my own blasting, I buy silicia based sand at about $11.00 a bag, My Sandblaster can hold about 1.5 bags of sand at a time, Its a pot type but older I bought it a few years ago for around $100.00. Roughly 3 bags for a 81 so in other words $33.00 and about 2 hours. All I have is a 60 Gallon single stage and I do have to play catch up every now and then but not bad. When its time for the compressor to catch up im ready for a break anyways.
