Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: racerx45 on April 08, 2004, 02:44:30 pm I wanted to know if the serial numbers that Vendo used tell you anything. Can you get a date of manufacture from them? I am asking because I just got another Vendo fountain dispenser and am wondering when it was made. The numbers on them are 0121785, 1042705 and 8032605.
If you want to see them here is a link to my web page Dispenser Page The new one is the 1950's Vendo Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: racerx45 on April 22, 2004, 12:04:21 pm No one has any info on Vendo numbers?
Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: Jim on April 22, 2004, 06:32:21 pm Hey Steve,
I'm not sure about syrup dispensers, but Vendo Soda Machines had production dates incorporated into the serial numbers on pre 60's machines that I'm aware of... I'll do a little digging tomorrow and get back to you if I find out anything... Title: Vendo serial numbers? Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: Jim on May 11, 2004, 02:16:30 pm Steve,
Sorry for the delay! I'm waiting for some documentation that may shed a little light on Vendo Syrup Dispensers... Hopefully, I'll have something by next week... As for soda machines, the serial numbers are only accurate for model manufactured prior to 1958 and not all models followed this serial number convention... Title: Vendo serial numbers? Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: Paul M. on February 06, 2005, 09:28:20 pm I know this is an old thread, but like me, someone else might be doing a search on this same topic.
ColaMachines.com has some info on Vendo s/n's. But what isn't mentioned is that, as Jim posted above, it only applies to '50s machines. My V-63 has the number 3TK 065811, so their system doesn't apply. Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: DanV on February 06, 2005, 11:34:28 pm Vendo machines 63's were made from 1959 to 1966. Sorry I couldn't narrow it down any further.
Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: Jim on February 07, 2005, 11:20:26 am I have never seen any documentation of dating Vendo machines into the 60's utilizing the serial numbers; however, it doesn't mean Vendo didn't incorporate this information into the serial number...
Think about this... Here's the serial number listed above: 3TK 065811 First three alphanumeric digits: 3TK First postition --> 3 = year --> 1963 Second Position --> I have no idea... Third position--> month = A - L or 01 - 12; This example, K, is November Remember, this is just an ASSUMPTION! Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: BryanH on February 07, 2005, 04:03:55 pm Just adding to Jim's assumption... T could be the plant or the line it was manufactured in/on. Would need more serial #'s to test the theory and see if any of the digits meanings hold water.
Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: on March 30, 2005, 06:48:33 pm My Vendo serial # is F31255846, is this a true Vendo, What's with the F instead of V? The model is F39B. Anyone, please help, thanks

Title: Vendo serial numbers? Post by: dr galaga on March 30, 2005, 07:05:06 pm The following information is stolen from http://www.colamachines.com/vendo-serialnumbers.htm
Understanding Vendo Model & Serial Numbers Model # V stands for Vendo. The ab describes the vending capacity of the machine. V44 =Serves 44 Bottles Serial # The serial number is typically made up of 8 numbers. The first number is the year the machine was produced. The second number is the month. (should read 2nd and 3rd) The last 5 numbers are the actual serial numbers. Example: Serial Number : 21014601 First number was 2 = 1952 Second & Third numbers were 10 = October Which means that this machine was made in October of 1952and has a serial number of 14601. Not sure about your "F" Scorps My 63 has a SN of 807055935 (9 digits) I just thought that in the 60's they just made the serial number portion longer. Using the above formula mine was made in July of 1968. It has woodgrain so this seems right. Further comments? |
