Title: It still amazes me! Post by: collecture on January 16, 2011, 03:54:52 pm I got this 81D at an auction yesterday. Cleaned up the compressor area today by vacuuming the mice nests out (lots of gutted Hazelnuts)...replaced the condenser motor (with a working used one)....plugged it in and it cooled down like a champ in 15 minutes. It is simply amazing to me how bulletproof these old refrigeration decks are!
Not an incredible deal, but a nice solid machine. No visible rust through areas and only a few dents...louvres are straight. Almost complete (I had a spare SO flag & condensation pan), but need a shelf with slider if anyone has one....willing to buy or barter! LMK please! Title: Re: It still amazes me! What did you get it for? TFJ $1300 was the hammer, but add in B.P., tax & gas = $1500+ in the garage. There were a lot of tools there that went pretty cheap. '71 Gran Torino was a really clean 1-owner all-original car = $6300 |
