Weird. It's been flagged again.
So, anybody can just "flag" an ad and it is removed?

I have never had this happen before. Anyways here is the deal. This thing has a lot of surface rust as obvious by the pics. It does need minor body work but nothing big. There are a few tiny holes, but no major pieces that are rusted through. I just want this thing out of my garage! I have a good bit of new parts with it (main gasket, door liner gasket, solenoids, switches, faceplate, decals). I also have a reconditioned cooling unit that only needs a good dusting. It is not original to the machine. Here are some pics as well. Any questions let me know. The thing needs body work, but the cooling unit and parts are worth what I am asking (450).

Do you have the Bottle door and shelves?

Joey

Yes I have both although the door is rusty and the handle needs to be replated. All shelves are there as well as the original national coin mech which needs a lot of work.

Its tempting but 9 hours away is quite a task for just one machine. Does the front door line up with the cabinet nice? I have two junk 96s and both have alignment problems. I almost bought one a few months ago and it had the same thing a really crappy 3 inch gap between the top of the front door and the top of the cabinet.

Understandable, I just drove 10 hours for a boat motor! Anyways the machine needs a new handle to close all the way, but it looks like it linnes up perfectly to me. Here are a couple pics of the top. Hopefully this helps you.

Joey,

when you have a sag in the door alignment, is that typically an issue with the hinges or will the door actually deform?  Is there a reasonable procedure to remedy the situation?

The cavalier machines have a part that lifts the door up when it closes and I have found that usually it just needs shimmed or it has slipped down and just loosen the bolts and lift it up and it should line up better.

The issue has nothing to do with a alignment problem, Both of my machines were previously disassembled. If any of you have ever had a Cav 96 100% apart you will know that a single wall appliance box has more strength than the cabinet of a 96. I dont know what happens to them I worked on one for 2 days with NO results, Took it to a buddy who has been restoring old soda machines for over 20 years. end result we both still had a 2 inch gap when we got tired of messing with it.

From my experience the Cav 96 has poor design flaws like a Vendo 56 has bad design flaws with beltline rust.
