Post by: nyrescue on November 26, 2010, 11:53:34 pm
I will take a stab at asking if anymore can tell me how to remove the unit from the bottom. Removed the four bolts and up off the springs but am stuck at this point.

Are you trying to remove the compressor assembly from the machine?
OR
Are you trying to separate the compressor mounting plate from the compressor for refinishing?

The assembly as a whole...I think its the two from bolts correct?  One is frozen and will ahve to cut it off tomorrow.

try pb blaster before you try cutting anything off, that should loosen them up

Usually it is one or two bolts on the bottom, a couple of evaporator screws up top and the line cover

Ok one last question...is there anyway to remove the shroud? the one that covers the fan motor?  Looks like the 3 fan screw are frozen and damaged also...going to have to drill them out. Trying to remove as much as I can to clean and spray.
