Title: What insulation to use?
Post by: on March 17, 2002, 01:01:49 pm
I have my Cavalier 96 apart and the old fiberglass is OK looking except on the bottom where it got wet. So, when I put it back together what should I use for insulation? I'd like as much insulation value as possible to make it as efficient as reasonable for a 44 year old machine. I'm debating using Icynene and just injecting it into the cavity and door. This will be a one way trip as it sticks to everything and the liner will never come out again, but, it probably wont have to. Any thoughts?

nate, if you go that route be sure and minimal expanding type.that stuff will SUPER expand and could do a little damadge to your door.i have screwed
up a new window in my house once
.i had to cut it back out and reinstall it,using minimall expanding foam.its great stuff and i should work fine for you.                                                                 take this with a grain of salt, heck ive never even seen your machine!                             small block :)
