Title: New to vending machines Post by: tlittle1345 on October 26, 2010, 12:16:29 pm Hi I just bought a Dixie Narco 240/138-6 it had been sitting for 4 years the guy told me the machine will start up and run but the lights on the front are both burnt out i tried replacing them and put them in with the machine off and one bulb burnt out immediately and the other one flashed for about 10 seconds before it went dead I was wondering what would cause this. I also thought about replacing the lighting in it but not sure what to use there is only one place around here to get the bulbs and they are a little over $9 a bulb so i dont want to keep burning them up any advice would be very helpful.

Sorry to hear about your bulb mishaps. Sound like you have a bad ballast to me. Locate the ballast, take it with you to your local store and see if they have a replacment. If not, you can order on online. If it stays lit, then put the other in.
