Title: Slots?
Post by: David D on October 13, 2010, 11:11:44 pm
I know this doesn't vend soda, but you guys are pretty good with anything coin op.  Does anyone know anything about old slots?  I picked this up locally for $100, It doesn't work but it's complete and the reels spin correctly if you manually trip the play solenoid.   Not sure how much work this will take or if I'll even figure it out, but since it's all electro-mechanical  I'm thinking it should be similar to an old slot or pinball.  Does anyone have any tips on slots?

Many thanks- David

Also, you would not believe how much this thing weighs, I bet it's 250 lbs

Sorry can't help with the trouble shooting. Just think how heavy it would be full of money! I believe it - the casino wouldn't want you running off with thier slot now.

Where are you located? I have worked on slots most of my life. I am sure I can fix it.

thanks, not really looking for someone to fix it, I'm sure I'll figure it out... only looking to see if anyone was familiar with these.

Got this machine up and running and it was pretty simple, the machine was acting like it didn't have enough power, nothing would work and the lights were dim.  I read about slots being 220 volts and checked into this more and found I needed to change the wiring on the transformer to run 110 volts.   Pretty simple, changed the wiring and this thing lit right up.  Now I need to clean it up and get a bunch of nickels.
