Title: Vendo 80 E Post by: Pat Pixley on October 02, 2010, 03:07:25 pm OK need some help , I have a client that has a Vendo 80 E ( not sure what the E stands for ) This has been on his deck for a few years under the over hang
It does run and get cold Just needs a new cord every thing is there , The pan between the compressor and the tank felt solid coin mech need a real good cleaning. He would like to sell it I'm not interested he is thinking he would like to start at $1000.00 bottom $800 , I'm not sure I think he is to high any thoughts? He has asked about me taking it to Chicago to also try and sell it ( i would get a cut in selling it for him) So need some input from you guys on a value Thanks Pat 8) Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: RC kid on October 02, 2010, 08:06:13 pm I've always wanted one. If it were located close by I would offer Five for it, but I would have a hard time parting with eight hundred dollars in these tight times.
Disclaimer: That's my uneducated input, for what it is worth. I am sure others here know more about the current market than I and I look forward to reading their input as it becomes available. Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: Chris on October 02, 2010, 09:02:18 pm I think between 500-800 is a good start. That is what I would look to pay for it.
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: SIGNGUY on October 03, 2010, 08:45:12 am I think 800 might be hard to get even in a Chicago show situation as there are alwasys a few there in the 600 range.. I looked at one last year that I thought I needed to have.. but thankfully talked myself out of it..
Pat, if you do bring it with you, your more than welcome to put it in my booth on Friday.. as without a booth space, it's hard to sell stuff.. Thanks John :biggrin:I appicate it and I will take you up on that offer , I'm looking for price to go back to him with so then you guy's think $500 to $600 would be a good price .Pat, if you do bring it with you, your more than welcome to put it in my booth on Friday.. as without a booth space, it's hard to sell stuff.. Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on October 03, 2010, 06:55:02 pm Hi Pat,
I have been watching V-80's for a long time...since I am restoring mine and constantly looking for parts.....I have not seen anyone get $1000 (although a number have asked for well over that - one on E-Bay for $6800 - I will keep my thoughts quiet. $500-600 seems reasonable for a fully-functional unit that requires some work based (including paint) on what I have seen. Glen Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: johnieG on October 03, 2010, 07:07:12 pm I'm not much of a "single flavor" machine guy, but I do like the V80 as opposed to a V39 or Cavalier C51, especially if it has the late model stainless-steel trim.
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on October 03, 2010, 07:26:33 pm Single flavor certainly has its limitations.....but mine has been in my family since the early 60's (was my Dad's) - so it has sentimental value and I know the history...at some point I hope to expand the stable.
I just feel good finding the parts - bottle rack assy (found), coin box (found), cap box(still searching) and sold out level (still searching) - basically I now have a fully-functional V-80. I had it professionally stripped and pained 20 years ago...but it has never seen the outside since it was actually used by Coke (or distributor). Feels good to bring it back to life. As a comparison, here is a V-80 on EBAY for $995 (not the one listed for $6800 :tounge:).....it has been painted on the outside - nothing done to the inside....if you enlarge the pics of the front, it appears that they really did not do any work....and the paint job is not nearly as nice as most do work and who post on this site.....again,,,overpriced....but you never know.. Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: Pat Pixley on October 04, 2010, 06:27:16 pm Well I going to goback to my client tomorrow and tell him $500 to $700 ( with some room in between) and see
what he has to say . John would you aslo have room for a slider ? if not understand . Pat Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on October 05, 2010, 09:55:18 am Pat,
Another data point -- this guy has a $600 reserve- don't know whether the rack dispenses properly and "gets cold in an hour" always worries me because experience tells me it may not stay cold. I am mad now that I let the V80 near me go for $260 - had lots of rust but had some key parts I need. http://cgi.ebay.com/1950s-Coca-Cola-Coke-Machine-Model-XV80A-Ice-Cold-/200526684907?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb05262eb Good luck, Glen Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: Pat Pixley on October 05, 2010, 10:06:38 am Glen you could always buy this one
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on December 07, 2010, 11:44:50 am Pat,
If you don't mind my asking....did it get sold and for how much? Thanks, Glen Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: RC kid on December 07, 2010, 07:26:24 pm There is a Vendo 80 on the Raleigh Craigslist. I think the price is $800.00.
I didn't call the guy because I just bought a C-51 and now I am broke. So I didn't want to waste this guys time. Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on December 07, 2010, 09:44:06 pm Raleigh Craigslist?...could you post a link,,,,I did not see it
Thanks, Glen Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: RC kid on December 17, 2010, 09:05:00 pm http://charlotte.craigslist.org/atq/2060280195.html

Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: RC kid on December 18, 2010, 08:44:18 am Now if I were in LA I think I would find the money to make a five hundred dollar offer. I think the Tombstone model looks cool.
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on December 18, 2010, 10:24:16 am Thx...I finally found the one in China Grove (near Charlotte)....sent a note asking for more pics - no response......$850 is also way too much for a V80 in that condition.
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: RC kid on December 18, 2010, 11:07:22 am You may get a better deal once you start talking to the seller. The machine has been for sale for some time now.
Title: Re: Vendo 80 E Post by: glenp87 on December 19, 2010, 10:06:38 am Agreed,,,but there is no phone number....he has not repsonded to my e-mail.
