Title: Victor 4-door Post by: MKREEL on September 11, 2010, 08:37:31 pm What type of compressor do I need for this type of machine? The whole system needs to be replaced.
Title: Re: Victor 4-door Post by: johnieG on September 12, 2010, 07:35:21 am probably 1/4 to 1/3 HP unit, take the model no. off of the actual compressor & take it to your supplier so they can cross reference it for you. the horse-power rating should also be listed on the compressors specification tag somewhere on it's mounting plate, or elsewhere on the machine.
Title: Re: Victor 4-door Post by: collecture on September 12, 2010, 09:32:40 am According to the manual (available in the downloads section - page 2 - Victor Coolers-Model C-18, C-31, C-45) it is a 1/2 HP and power should to be hardwired to the junction box on the cooler.
Title: Re: Victor 4-door Post by: mznb1u on September 12, 2010, 05:10:13 pm I just checked the plate on mine and it is a 1/2HP. The unit in mine is a Tecumseh but I am not 100% sure that it is original. For reference, at some point someone wrote on the inside of the compressor area with a Sharpie "R-12 18oz".
Hope that helps. :drinking: Tim :drinking: PS--Johnie--at some point you will be working on this beast. Title: Re: Victor 4-door Post by: johnieG on September 12, 2010, 05:35:42 pm [quote PS--Johnie--at some point you will be working on this beast.
