Title: I'm interested in cool facts about pepsi or coca cola! Post by: Flightfanatic on September 02, 2010, 08:14:33 pm Hello, I am supposed to write a paper about Pepsi and Coca Cola for one of my classes. I think I was the only one in class that was excited to do this project! lol :laugh:
Well, I figured this forum would be the best place to ask. I am not asking for you to do my homework in any way, but I would like to put in some cool facts about the two companies into my paper to make it more interesting. It is supposed to be about how the companies were started, and how they came about to be the large companies that they are today.. Like I heard that coca cola was originally green, is that true? Did you know Coke had a chance to purchase Pepsi back in the 30's when Pepsi was in or near bankrupcy? They passed. Wonder what we would have if the deal went thru. Try Cocaine...that is what Coca Cola originally had in it or at least some portion of the Coca plant...hence the name Coca Cola! Additionally Dr. Pepper originally had an amphetamine (speed) in it! Because of the desire for Coke in manufacturing plants and on military bases, the companies that made Coke machines, such as Vendo, were not required to switch their factories over to war time production.

I thought that was an excellent documentary about Coke and the cola wars over the years. Some great stuff in the vault in Atlanta too!

Post by: BrianB on September 10, 2010, 06:40:07 am After being in the military for over 19 years, I can tell you that morale or the lack of it can be a deciding factor on how good a command/unit performs in real time situations. And sometimes it the small things like creature comforts from home that provide that extra bit of happiness.
I've seen people get irrate over the 1 soda pop machine on the ship not being filled and staying empty for a few weeks due to unavailability of a resupply. Sounds kind of lame, but it's true. It really does have an effect and it isn't positive!! :laugh: |
