There are a couple on the Detroit Craigslist . http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/1790700534.html There is a General Lee project car I wish I had the fundsfor. Not that it would be ready for the Woodward Cruise :( Title: Re: Car's Post by: Ltransam on June 23, 2010, 06:53:36 am Yep Sweet Ride . I look around and See If I can Find Pictures Of the One I owned .But I think The X has the Pictures . Mine was Silver with a Orange Faded Strip Down the Sides 440 Magum Auto .Blew that Up at the Track I then Found a 1970 426 Hemi Had It Redone .And 3 years Later YES i Totaled It traveling on the Highway at 140 swerved to miss a tire Then Air Born .Not a Fun Ride .Thank God For the Roll Cage . No Power Like Mopower Title: Re: Car's Post by: rayg on June 23, 2010, 04:09:45 pm Kilroy , thanks for the link.. It looks to be a SE, but the interior is green yuck, but that can be changed. It's fairly close by, so I may go check it out. The last picture look like allot of body work in the rear quarter a spot that almost always when bad. Hopefully, they fixed it with metal not bondo. You can get the whole rear quarter for around $500 + . I think the General Lee was a 69’, that body style 68’-70’ is very collectable.
Ltransam If I remember it correctly wasn't the 426 Hemi listed it @ 425hp (for insurance reasons) … @ 5000RPM but the true peak power curve was a 6000RPM @ 530+hp and that was stock.. So if you reworked yours it had to be putting out better then 600hp+…. 140 is where the speedometer stops, I bet you where going faster. Those cars were very fast in the straight line but did not handle too well when it came to fast maneuvers.... Lucky to be alive and thank God you had a roll cage... was that for running the car at the track? Ray |
