Title: Vending solenoid? weak?
Post by: on January 16, 2004, 10:46:16 am
Hello, me agian.  I notice that the vending solenoid does not engage the vend lever to release a bottle.  watching it, it seems that it is weak or not enough power is going to it.  I tried cleaning the mech with electrical cleaner and even some WDD-40.  I have not taken the transformer out at this point.  Do you think I can find a replacement?  Any info on this subject would be great.

BTW, I looked at a manual and it says to adjust it.  Upon looking at it, it appears to be already at the lowaest adjust point.  Agian,  when the coin changer sends its siganl to the vend solenoid, it appears the solenoid does not open all the way or its weak.  Could this be a coin changer problem as well?

I've just measured a few coils in my parts bin & they measure about 51 ohms so I'd pull the terminals off of yours & measure
across it & compare your readings, also it's a 115 volt coil so if you were to make a test cord with a small normally open switch, you could test it directly without removing it from the machine, as for the coin mech, it does supply the pulse for the vend relay true, but it's generally a go/no-go type of device, if you look at the free-play switch diagram ( use the "search" feature on the top of the discussions page) & you can use it to test the vending relay as well. and double check the wiring harness from the door to the machines main harness, you might have corroded terminals causing a voltage drop too. hope this helps, let us know what you find... :;):
