Title: Its been a while
Post by: jasmine64 on May 29, 2010, 07:40:41 pm
My choice vend 168 finally died this week.

Does anyone have any material on how to get this thing apart so I can at least check it over?

Welcome back aboard the flyin' dutchman ..er the discussion board... :tounge:  So, what's it Not doing is the question, vending, cooling, etc.

Well...... its not cooling it tries to run, has a low hum.

I unplugged it after my hubby told me it wasnt cooling and he nor I had actually heard it running that day.
The next morning I turned it on and it ran for a while and then the hum.

It has been off and on for a while making a high pitched squealing then it would run ok for a while. Sounded like a fan maybe dying. Sometimes a low grumbling / grating noise.

We are in the season of brown outs and power loss so I have it on a surge protector.

I would really like to get it running again. I have yet to rewire the cav 22. Its still sitting in the same place neglected. (since Im working full time now) If this one wont work then I may have to put all my interest into the Cav.

Hi Marsha,
can you check to see if the compressor is running or trying to run or if it is trying to start and then clicks off for a few seconds or so then tryes to start again? Is the condenser fan running?

If the compressor is trying to start and won't, it might be the start/run relay has gone bad.
