Title: Is this an original sign??
Post by: rr82 on May 02, 2010, 11:35:33 am
Hello guys, I was just curious if this was an original 50's or a repo? It doesnt have any AM# stamp on it or anything like that. I wanted a button sign so I picked it up. It would be great if it was the real deal. :hopefull: I dont think the photos worked out to good. It just ended on ebay. I'll try to post the link.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250621685448&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:US:1123

The small round hole makes me think it is a repop. I am not a pro with signs though lets see what everyone else says.

My vote is the real deal.. all repros I've ever seen have the bottle and are clearly dated as new.

there are 4 slot/holes at 12 -3 - 6- 9 for mounting.

Thanks for the replies. In the photos it really only looks like 1 small hole. Its hard to say. I really hope its the real deal. So is everyone kinda saying if when it shows up if it doesnt have the oval holes I just purchased a repo? :oh:

I hope your correct Eric. I do have to agree that most of the repos that I have seen have been the ones with the coke bottle but maybe I have been looking at all kinds of repos if I need to ask this question lol!!

So now that we are pretty sure about originality, how did I do on the price. $84.00 plus 12 shipping $96.00 total. I think maybe kinda high for a 12 inch but I really wanted one to hang above my 81B. The damage is done, fully paid so you can be as honest as you like lol!! :tounge:
