Title: Vendo 39 restoration questions and tips needed.
Post by: loman4ec on April 17, 2010, 01:00:34 pm
I am restoring a Vendo 39 for a customer. It is a very clean machine to start with. I just wanted to ask if there is anything special I should do to the drum before removing it? I have had a few 39's but not torn into them. I just didn't want to make anything harder on myself. Any tips or advice for doing a V39?

Like what? Remove 'C' clip and drum washers and slide drum off center post.

The drum needs to be rotated in a counter clockwise direction while removing, to be able to release the 2 indexing fingers in the rear.

Thats the kind on info I need. Thank you Glen! I have not messed with the 39's since they are not too attractive to me since they are single flavor. Any other tips I need to know please chip in.

Thank you!

Don't forget to keep track of how many washers are behind and in front of the drum.  Might save you some time tuning the drum when you put it all back together!

Make sure the center post goes back in the same way it came out. Early on I put one back in upside down it it rubbed tight in one area of its cycle. T

Very funny!

All good tips, I just photograph everytying when taking a machine apart, it really helps when I'm out in the shop at 11am saying to myself I think this is where this goes.. Even though I've done several, I still go to the photos..

good luck!

If you are you breaking down the drum itself for re-plating the back plate and cleaning the a aluminum drum, I suggest you pay close attention to where the counter-weight is located in relation to the vending holes or better yet, which vending holes it is behind ! ! !
