Post by: jnapp18 on April 03, 2010, 03:28:11 pm
What should i try before deciding my compressor is junk.... It is for a Westinghouse wd-10 and the only thing i have tried is twisting the compressor adjustment screw and nothing changes... still no cold. Tips please. how do i identify the problem.
Evap fan and condenser fan both run.

If the condenser fan runs, this means that power is getting to the compressor. After the unit runs for awhile does the compressor feel warm to the touch? If not try disconnecting the condenser & evaporator fan motor and see if you can hear the compressor running, unless you have a amp meter to check the load on the compressor when running.

Another good question would be , did it ever work in the first place?
