Title: A new addition, this time not a cup machine!
Post by: Seven181 on April 01, 2010, 07:19:57 pm
Hey gang! Got a new addition to the family. Thanks to Zadd on this site for a lead on a few cup machines and this cool ice cream bar machine. I will be picking up some machines next week and this will be one of them. Has anyone ever seen one of these? Info told me it is a Atlas ColSnac machine. Here is an attachment. Cool machine! Thanks again Zadd!

Brian

That is really cool. Love the art deco appearance as well. Would love me one of them. What's the story behind it? Every machine I buy I try and find out the history of it. Where it originated, how the seller ended up with it etc.

Come on Brian. Inquiring minds wanna know

Nice tho and great find there Zadd.
Awesome site here guys, just awesome!!

Very Cool Brian,
I was trying to read the flyer on the dimensions.. at first I thought it was a small wall hanger type, but it says it's 61" tall and 23" wide and if I am reading this right , says it weighs 465 lbs? WOW!!
and $695.00 as retail cost? seems pretty high for that era? must have been quite a machine? where do the ice cream bars come out?

where do the ice cream bars come out?

It looks like it they come out dead center about 3.5' to 4' high. Advert says 'no stoop' delivery!

Always neat to look up these old machines in the old billboard magazines, looks like this one was in pretty high demand, so they raised the price from $100 to $695!!  Thats one heck of a price jump for that time.

Yes, the bars come out right in the middle of the machine. It is very unique and very heavy! It is all there and is complete. It just needs to have the outside restored. I think it holds 50 bars. They did up the price back in the day and the info says they were in very high demand. I guess at the time the sales manager for the company went on a tour with one of these in the back of the truck, trying to get theaters to buy them. Very interesting. I love the art deco look.
