This has been a great place to hang, lurk and look for advise and help...so with that
said...I present my nostalgic basement!  I hope you enjoy visiting it as much as I do.

Thanks..to all for the advise and online fun!

You got some really cool stuff. I love the pay phone and the parking meter. Did you restore the parking meter or did you buy it that way?

The parking meter came to me that way, but the post was something I had fabricated.

Since these photos were taken, I have added a 1967 Bell Phonebooth, wood/full function, a
claw machine and a off road video game.

Last night I started re-assembly of a National 11 pull cigarette machine that I re-styled in the
colors of Harley Davidson...it's the style with the light showing through the mirror.

This national is for my brother...who also wants a skee ball machine, claw machine, video shoot em up
machine, and a couple of barber chairs....I have him hooked but good!

I will post pics when the National is completed.

4 years!  It started with is list.  Then...the gas pump and in less that 2 years, 80% of the items you see
were in place!

Now I just sneak stuff in and see how long before she notices!

The Phonebooth...that was a little big to hide, and the claw machine she loves..so I am
safe in that regard.

The pool table hits about 1895...Collander Brunswick...

Oh man! I am wild about that blue cigarette machine with the Art Deco touches.
Is it from the 30's?

When I first picked the machine up, it was traditional hammertone blue.

After striping and prepping, I chose 57 Chevy Paint colors from the book...had
em mixed and shot...then the re-assembly and finish work.

I love it as well, thanks!  I do not know the year, but it is the National Machine.

Before and assembly pictures below.

I went to the candy store for Cigarettes.....Belgium Chocolate in Celophane, Bubble Gum (the kind that goes poof when you blow through it) and the nasty chalky style.

People love em!  I have all my machines set to free play or provide the change to make it happen!

Hi Ya Poptop

where did you find the "Lucky Strike" image. I'm in the process of restoring my machine and would like to use the hand image. I have a decal man. Just need a decent enough image to blow up for the product door.

It looks great. Had I seen it before I chose my colour scheme I may well have gone for the blue.

I love the space you have in your room. My little collection is literally shoe horned into a corner of what you have..
I keep all my stuff on coin.. Let the little ones use their pocket money is my motto.

The Lucky Strike was a Magazine ad!

There are so many cool ads (yes cigarette ads were cool) but I went with Lucky Strike
because my girlfriends Dad smoked them.

Gumball Machines are a penny but the candy and the candy cigs are on freeplay...other wise they
would go stale waiting for some coin.  The slot machine is set to tokens but can be coin in a minute,
however my friends would expect a payout!

The video game, claw machine and Coke machine are coin...but the bucket is near them.

Always a party!

I don't suppose you have the Jpeg image of it do you?? I have found the image on Google but its not
good enough to blow up..

Cheers

Dave

I tried the chocolate cigarettes in my machine and they jammed a lot.  I believe I had to pinch and tape the pack.  What chocolate cigs are you using?  Maybe there's a new brand out there.  They did have cool packages, but the chocolate was hard to unwrap.

YOU ARE WELCOME!   8)

I use candy products from: http://www.candyfavorites.com/index.php

Trial and error has shown me that the celophane wrapping may catch or hang up in the rack
system and they are not heavy enough to move on there own...sometimes.

I took and empty cigarette pack and loaded it with lead weights (fishing or tire balance lead) then
taped it shut.  the added weight from the top keeps them moving and I know when I am low as I
see the real deal on it's way down.
