Title: Refreshing the paint on my 44 Post by: tkaz on March 27, 2010, 11:59:45 am I'm looking to keep the original paint on the v44 I just picked up, but its going to need good buffing/waxing. There was a thread with some good info on how to attack the rust pits on the surface of the paint, but I can't for the life of me find it again. What products do you guys use, and process for that matter, to get the paint on an original machine back up to shiny? I am going to hit it with some rubbing/polishing compound, but I'm not totally sure that is going to take care of the small rust spots.

I'd check with him and see what the product is called. The stuff is called RustMort (pg.5), I'm going to see if I can find a bottle tomorrow. Right now I've been hitting it with rubbing compound, and the shine is coming back.
