Major storm blew through last night - couple of big car shows in town - Barrett-Jackson & Russo-Steele (tent blew down at R-S)

That sucks. I was watching the auction on TV last night. They were auctioning Davey Allison's Busch series car when they interrupted the auction to tell everyone to stay calm and remain in the tent.

I saw that too but i didn't realize it was live.  They replay that auction on the Speed channel so much I didn't even know if it was this year! :tounge:

I was watching that last night too. I heard them say that there was another auction going on nearby and one of their tents had blown onto and blocked a highway. You could really see the roof of the auction tent they were in moving.

The damaged cars were under a tent at the Russo auction. Tent ended up on the freeway. Several converts with tops down took rain damage. Saw a very sad picture of a convert Torino with a tent pole laying on top. Looks like Hagerty is out at least 1.5 M in claims. Worse thing I can remember since Reggie Jacksons wharehouse burned down with 150 classics inside.

Can you imagine if you had alread bought like a Vintage 1958 Corvette, paid 110,00 for it that day, sitting back at the hotel pool, dreaming about getting it home and going for a drive, then turning on the news to see this!..
Like Pat Said, the insurance companies will be busy, and will be interesing to hear how claims are handled, being that some cars have sold and some titles and such have exchanged hands, and I'm sure some new owners didn't think about insuring that day, where probably going to wait till they got home? hmmm

Some of those people are going to be sick  and some of those companies are going to be sick after paying off
on four or five of those total losses :oh:.
