Title: Juke Gurus?? Post by: Crazzy Canuck on December 22, 2009, 06:15:56 pm Have a question for the juke guru's. I have a 1939 Seeburg Classic. I haven't played in about 13 or 14 years. Figured I'd fire her up for the Grandson and granddaughter the other night. Still plays like a charm and the excite on their faces is priceless!!!!! I was excited to see them excited. That's why I collect this stuff.
Okay now my question: I had to load the record manually in the tray. I could put the coin in the shute and the tray would go down and the tray would rise and get the record from the tray. Now the tray does not go down. It just stays at the top and spins. Where should I start? I know these ones aren't very valuable but it has sentimental value to me and my grandkids love it. Thanks. Title: Re: Juke Gurus?? Post by: Kilroy on December 23, 2009, 03:23:45 pm I'm confused , did the record load from a tray, and the turntable didn't lower when it reached the end of the record? Did the record tray return? Did the tone arm return to at rest position?
After 15 years of non use,I my gut feeling is the oil gunked up and not tripping the reset switch, a pretty common problem with tray/carousel mechs of the 30's and 1940's Title: Re: Juke Gurus??
