Title: H56C Vendolator Door Question Post by: pumpdude on November 27, 2009, 08:27:47 pm Can someone out there please explain to me why my Vendolator has a hollow wooded dowel in the door. It had no wires or anything else going through it, but it seems like it has some purpose. The old door liner even has its shape molded to it.

I circled the strange wooden item in the pic. The color is from a rust stabilizer paint. It used Tobe a wood color before.

Where on your door is it? I can't make out what part of the door your picture is focused on. The old door liner had a cast in chute that went from the cylinder down to the bottom of bottle door.

Is (or was) there a hole on the main door and/or liner too? What diameter is the hole in the wooden dowel? 1/2"? I'm guessing the mechanical mech shaft went through it maybe. This wood might have been a spacer as in the VMC 27/33...
As we can see, this is a transitional machine and was originally designed for a manual crank handle operation. I will try and post another pic tonight with some type of spring linkage that sits bellow the chrome insert for the bottle door. Also the hole is about 1/2" dia. with three wood screws that held the linner to it.
Title: Re: H56C Vendolator Door Question Post by: loman4ec on November 30, 2009, 10:58:36 am That is what it is. On the square top V56 and V81 transitional machines the linkage is on the outside of the liner. It is a spacer giving the door liner stability around the coin mech shaft.
