Title: Loosen the mech on a restored 81 Post by: tony73tt on October 19, 2009, 01:55:19 pm Hi
This is a first time for me here, i have a restored 81 that is VERY stiff, accepts coin ok and the vend lever is good. However it seems the only shelf allowing a vend is the top one, all the others below it are not allowing bottle to be released... When i turn vend lever anti clock to open the door this is also STIFF! To the point it nearly picks the machine off the floor. Is there a product i can use to free things off a bit??? Thanks Tony U.K Title: Re: Loosen the mech on a restored 81 Post by: collecture on October 19, 2009, 03:40:43 pm Hi Tony,
Remove the crank handle(vend lever) from the machine and then remove the plate on the back of it. Inside you will find a spring, clutch and clutch pawl etc. Remove everything and clean them up a bit, then load everything back in and lube it with some white lithium grease. The pawl can be inserted two ways and only one is right so as to allow the vend lever to break easily in the counter clockwise motion. Otherwise, it will give to easily when you want it to vend. There is a thread in the Tips & Tutorials section to assist you in getting it all back together. As far as only one selection, that sounds like a bottle stack issue. Remove the stack and post some pictures - let's see if it is complete first. Let me explain... I work away from home for anything up to 8 weeks at a time, i wont be home again now until the day before i fly to the Chicago Show 10 November, i will get to work on what you have said as soon as i get time, this maybe when i return from the show.
Meanwhile thanks for the advice, i appreciate the help as always. Are you off to the show? Title: Re: Loosen the mech on a restored 81 Post by: collecture on October 20, 2009, 09:16:59 am No problem Tony - barring any unforeseen circumstances, I'll be around.
I do plan on getting to the Chi-show one of these days, but it will not be this year. Title: Re: Loosen the mech on a restored 81 Post by: davethebirdman on October 20, 2009, 11:33:22 am Hey Tom why not aim for April...
