Date: 2009-10-13, 1:41PM CDT Reply to: sale-vbuey-1419766910@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] This is an original piece of the Waterloo, Iowa Coca Cola Bottling plant, and was removed carefully by skilled tuckpointer/brick masons. This was hung in a straight line just above the front doors. We have a picture (not included in this ad but available for the buyer) of this being removed from the building. The measurements are approx. 14.5 ft long. x 37 inch. tall An exact weight is unknown, but it is very heavy. Buyer responsibly for pick up only--no shipping. It is presently on pallets in storage. This would be a great addition to a building or garden. It is a "one-of-a-kind" find. Sold as is and for cash only. Please e-mail me your phone number today if you're interested! Thanks! * Location: Stockton, IA * it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: collecture on October 14, 2009, 02:52:33 pm That is pretty cool!
Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: GreginNM on October 14, 2009, 03:38:21 pm That same sign (or one just like it) is still on the old Coca Cola plant in Pensacola, FL. I used to drive by it quite often and think how nice it would be to have in the collection (or just move into the old building...Coke didn't use it any more)!

Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: SIGNGUY on October 14, 2009, 05:24:03 pm As many of you know, my Family owned some Coca-Cola Bottling plants in Wisconsin and Minnesota from the 30's - 90's...
One of the Bottling plants that my Grandfather and his brothers owned was in Pine City MN, and they recently renovated the building into Condos, but there is a really cool story about the old plant and what it was, and what it is now on this weblink.. enjoy.. http://pinecitylandings.com/aboutus.aspx Also another cool site that lists a bunch of old bottling plants all over the USA with photos.. very cool! http://www.agilitynut.com/deco/bev.html Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: halehouse on October 14, 2009, 06:06:16 pm The plant in Fredericksburg, Va was open and had signs that that on the outside of the building unitl just a few years ago. It is something else now and the terra cotta is off the outside of the building. I always wonder what they did with them. I'm going to check out the link above.
Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: oscar on October 14, 2009, 06:21:45 pm There's a former Coke plant in Champaign that they converted into a bar. It went out of business but another bar is renovating right now. It has the Terra Cotta Coke sign on the outside but not as nice as this one. John, I like that last picture of the Coke plant with the 1938 modern truck fleet.
Title: Re: For the Coke collector who has everything Post by: RC kid on October 14, 2009, 06:59:09 pm I love those old signs. They're just so darn nostalgic.
I would love to have a large green and red enamel coke sign for the side of the barn (ok, actually it's a shed in the back yard).
