My 37 could use restoring , it "appears" ? to have possibly , maybe ,  been repainted once ?? some things rather baffle me ?? I see no indication of any "under" primers @ ALL !! the white letters were most definitley painted first ,, and as the "knowledgable" would know,,white on top of red paint will "bleed" through !! but without the "underprimers" presence , this leads me to beleive that during the production painting process this item may ? have been "dipped" in enamel ? So , if it was "dipped" , how was the white lettering preserved through this process ?? No "fine line tape" in that era and I can only guess that something like "poster paint" 1 shot was hand brushed on for the white '<img'> I'm sure that I will sandblast this "pup" carefully (to avoid any distortion) , even though the metal is pretty much thick enough not to worry about !! Is it OK to use a primer , and keep it original , and then paint it in , what ?? straight enamel ,nitrocellular lacquer and then rub it out ?? lacquer with a clear ,watersanded and polished , and or a "new era " base/clear certainly would look great , but not correct to the "era" ,,any info would be helpfull , also maybe the correct paint codes , my books only go back to 1961 , I can formulate any type of paint with the correct code.......Any correct info to the above , will be appreciated !!!.........Also I previously requested info here (days ago) on this (if I might add "great website") ,,pertaining to "guesstimated" value , and info on a "liner and lid"... NO real helpfull response as yet ,,but it appears I found a lid here !! thanks !! In regards to the "liner" ,,mine isn't so real bad ,,so if I can get info on refinishing that is as most possibly as humanly correct as possible I will restore to the best of my ability,,and for the CURIOUS ,,I will tell you how I will "restore" the liner ,, without replacing and allthough it will not be "perfect" ,,it sure as heck will be of some interest ,, to those in Need of the same "type of fix" (see my pics) as per previous !! In regards to "guesstimated value",,which I have had No response whatsoever !!  "forget about it " ,,No worries !! or concerns !! thank you kindly,,,for intelligent , correct anticipated responses,,,,,B  (all you can be)!!!   (:
