Title: What's hot?
Post by: on May 01, 2003, 09:14:12 pm
How is the economy effecting the market for the classic machines?  Are certain machines or brands still in higher demand than others, like the 81s, 44s, 7up, Pepsi?  Also, have the values, listed in the reference guides, gone down or remained the same?  Also, has the reproduction 44s hurt the values of the originals or increased it?  Is there any other machines being reproduced?  Just curious, so let me know what you think.

OK, here is my view from California!
If the term "economy" represents the public's spending in general, classic soda machine buyers are exempt. They are people who don't need to worry about income fluctuations.
I know a man who is diverting his money from the stock market, to soda machines and related collectables. He believes supply & demand will keep his investments safe.
Also, with re-financing so attractive, a lot of people are re-modeling their homes, and gamerooms are HOT!
      Multi-vend machines like the 81 & 72 are much more popular than the single-vend 39 / 44 etc.
Coca Cola sells 10 to 1 over off-brands.
Values in the refrence guide have not gone down or remained the same, they are 25 to 30% higher.
Interest in the reproduction 44 is far below what the Whirlitzer company (or myself) had predicted.
"These are just my opinions, I may be wrong".
