I’m a novice and newcomer to your site but I’ve recognized that this looks like the best place to be. My friend bought an old Coca-Cola Vending Machine a few weeks ago and he ask me to research it. The bug bit me.
His has a Vendo 59 Standard top mounted later on a straight-sided Westinghouse Standard chest with a L-25-S cooler unit. The coin mech cover is squared and accepts dimes. It’s missing some parts and doesn’t work. I think both the top and chest were manufactured in 1947 or sooner.
My question is what was Vendos official model number or name for the 59 spin-tops manufactured and sold separately before their complete V-59 Cooler in 1948? I guessed ‘Vendo 59 Standard’ ?
Thanks much.

Welcome to the site.
Regret I can't help. Would like to see a picture of the machine.
Thanks!

the book has it listed as a Vendo 59 Top, it shows it on a larger cooler. It also has the Vendo 56 Standard.

It doesn't say very nice things about either of them!!!

Thanks Creighton. I managed to get a couple posted.

Also thanks to MaineT for finding the answer. 'Vendo 59 Top' makes more sense because it was used on larger chests also with an additional cover.

I appreciate it guys.

I think Vendo ID'd it as the Vendo 159
The Westinghouse Junior was the Vendo 123
The Westinghouse Standard was the Vendo 139
The Westinghouse Master was the Vendo 159

Hey collecture. Thanks for your post. That looks just like the top on my friends machine. I assume the posting came from a Vendo publication. Do you know where or how I could get a copy of that manual?

Just the two.    tounge

One is just hanging out waiting for the other one to be restored.   Tina doesn't know about the 2nd one, so I'm just waiting to get them both home.  I'll tell her Bob was having a buy-one get-one free special!

I'm also wondering how many SMC members now have Life's Been Good rattling around in their heads all day.   biggrin    That was my class song when I graduated from high school.

Sorry to hijack your thread but some might not know Joe Walsh.
Here is the best YouTube I could find. Some killer vintage gear in use. JW's geetar is a serious custom.
Gold Star award to the first that ID's the drum kit.

Always have liked the story songs produced by  JW, Jimmie Buffet, Rolling Stones.
The "She's taking the stairway to heaven" repeated 47 times never much liked.

Detour over, back to the Vendo cooler.
