Hello!

I am having my 1950's Choice Vend Pepsi machine restored.  I am wondering if decals can hurt the value of a machine once restored.
Although the machine is very cool,  I may want to place some same era style decals on the machine that may not necessarily be true to this particular machine but true to the era.  For example,  I have ordered a White lettered Drink Pepsi decal in single dot format,  a White Ice Cold Here decal found on a  50's Vendo and a yellow back Drink Pepsi logo. 8"

Is there any reason not to place these nice looking decals on this machine if they weren't necessarily found on the original machine?

I like the look of the extra decals as the machine is cool but added decals will make it look better in my opinion but maybe not necessarily to another  collector.  The machine is rather basic without any decals.

I am a newbie and this is my first machine although I am having the machine professionally restored as I like to do things the right way the first time.
Thanks!

Being your first machine I would do it the way you want it with the decals. I'm sure after you finish this one you will want another and another... You will have other opportunities to do an original restoration. With it being your first you are very likely to have it for a long time and you might as well enjoy it the way you like it. Just my input.

Thanks SC1101

I will do the decals tastefully-- as I know what will make this machine look best in my opinion.  I also am having the original bottle and change decals reproduced by killer-decals as I have supplied them the actual photos and they are making them for me!

They are also going to make me a neat Choice Vend bottle cap logo from this era. This should be really cool and give the machine a special signature.

I will post final photos if anyone wants to see the machine.

Regards,

John
