I am restoring a Vendo 56 square top. The refrigeration works great but I have the unit out of the machine for paint. Is there anything that I shoud do as far as general maintainance to the cooling unit while it is out? I have never touched the cooling units in the past so this is a first for me.

Hey Josh! If you have the refrigeration unit out , then this is the perfect time to replace both the condensor's & evaporator's fan motors & you'd be wise to get a replacement wiring harness for it as well. once the old electrical components are removed from the compressors deck plate , you can remove the compressor from it, & have it painted as well, (save or mask off the info /id plate)as for the compressor & condensor coil itself, a good cleaning/degreasing  is in order, followed by a  nice shot of semi-gloss black! you don't want to stick an old cruddy compressor unit back into a nicely paint machine...

PS ...the Pepsi Vendo V110 arrived safe & sound, & now is in the "Soda-Barn" as my 6-year old calls it!

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.
