Came across this NOS whisky vendor from Ireland, after getting rid of that woodgrain I think it'd be a great piece.  Price is high but a neat item for a whisky drinker

I'll bet the shipping will be close to the asking price. Why remove the wood grain? Looks good as is. 1970's
But you would be one of, if not the only owner of one of these in the US.

Wow. That sounds like a bargain. It would be difficult to get something shipped like that from NY to Indy for a price that low.

This machine, or one like it has been knocking around for years. I thought the seller was actually in the US and imports items from Ireland to sell.

The machine is very similar to cigarette machines I have had from that era. Its a veneer over chipboard. Yucky in my opinion and very expensive for what it is..

I think it would be a hit at parties. No man cave would ever be complete without one.
The exterior could be changed with a different color vinyl wrap but the condition of that wood is almost too nice to cover up.
The fun part would be designing a new American theme like Jim Beam / Johnnie Walker / or Moonshine!   happydrinkers

I am a big fan of Irish Whiskey so I would love to have that machine!  Bit pricey for a novelty though!

That's pretty cool.  Different times.   Probably still have a bunch of 10p coins for it from visiting family when I was but a wee lad.

Would love to have that for the man-cave, although I prefer Bushmill's to Jameson.

(shhhh... don't tell my family, they'd disown me for liking that Nordy Protestant swill)

I would consider $400-$500 for it, could tell Tina its a heritage thing.   upside

Jim

p.s. - Tom... it's Whiskey when it's Irish.

Chipboard? Yucky is right. I'm not familiar with machines made of any type of wood. That doesn't seem durable enough for what a vendor may be subjected to. Would that be a UK thing?

Still a cool machine but it's the same one that the seller has being trying to sell since December '14.  The link to the eBay ad is in the attached.

Love the Bushmill's comment.  Reminds me of a story my dad used to tell. Before I was born (back in the late 50's), my father and a lot of his friends were members of the Knights of Columbus.  Apparently one night somebody mentioned that Bushmill's was made in the Protestant side of Ireland. oops  With that, they immediately grabbed every bottle from the K of C Hall, took them outside and dumped them down the sewer.  wow Personally, I would have dispensed with it by drinking it! biggrin Cool laugh
